Sweet ’16

2015 was an interesting year for me. From graduating college to moving to Israel for several months, it was quite the year. I kept a journal and looking back, I’ve gathered some thoughts.

Resolutions, resolutions, resolutions = bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. Excuse my language; but, let’s be honest, how many times have you made “definitive” decisions that have failed year after year? Many times, right? I’m in the same boat, don’t worry.

Travel. Lose weight/lead a healthy lifestyle. Find the right career path. Fall in love(this one still amuses me.)

It’s nice to set goals and commitments to better yourself. But, most of the time you end up rationalizing in your head and end up not going forth with what you set out to accomplish. Ya just gotta build up some courage and go for it. Don’t make excuses.

I want 2016 to be the year you can set aside any nonsense and restrain from limitations. I also hope you decide to refuse to adhere to this whimsical thing called rules. I hope this year you gain the courage to say yes to what you need/want and say no to the things that aggravate you. I hope that this year is a fulfilling year for you. I hope that every damn day, this year, you never stop trying. Even if it’s a tough goal you set for yourself, don’t give up and keep pushing through. Don’t let past failures dictate your future. Learn from your failures and move on.

On December 31, 2016, I hope you look back on your year and stand in awe at how much you’ve accomplished and see how much your life is different because of the decisions you made. You owe it to yourself to pursue your dreams and live a fulfilling life. Whatever it is that scares you in life, just count to three and do it.

Make 2016 your bitch. If 2015 was a great year, make 2016 a better year. If 2015 was a shitty year, this is your chance to make 2016 the best year. Don’t let anything get in the way of your happiness and your success.

I hope you make this year a baller year.

Yours Truly,

Yari
